I brought in a used car for an inspection. The mechanic told me the car was in great shape and the only thing wrong with the car was that the wiper blades needed replaced. After I drove it back to the dealership I discovered a badly repaired crack in the bumper where the car struck the object hard enough that the bumper was partially torn from the bumper. It was badly attached using epoxy. If the mechanic didn't see this, what else did he miss? I cannot recommend this shop.

I am sorry I did not see the poorly repaired crack in the bumper. Please be assured, I the owner, did a thorough inspection of your Toyota using our check list. I found the vehicle was a very good product, with only a few needs in the future. I know you this car will serve you well. I will use this criticism to be more careful in the future.

I’ve been going to Akron Auto Clinic for a couple years, and I trust them completely. It’s apparent that everyone that works there really loves what they do. I don’t know much about cars, but every time I leave I know a little more because they take the time to explain everything and answer all of my questions (even the dumb ones). Their communication is superb. After they figure out what’s wrong with my car, they call and go over everything that needs done and the charges associated with repairs and/or provide a detailed estimate. I would gladly pay a premium for their excellent service, but their prices are right in line with other repair shops (actually, I’m pretty sure they’re lower). I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this business. This is a prime example of why I love small business. My business is important to them and that shows.

They always consider my best interest, not profit. I had a 17 year old car that they would regularly do repairs on, but recently it died for good so I bought a Ford Certified Pre Owned vehicle. My new car was having problems right after I bought it and, after going round and round with the service department at the dealer, I brought it into Akron Auto Clinic. Within two minutes, they knew what was wrong with my car and also identified a couple other problems. They knew that any repairs that needed made would have to go through the dealer, so they really had nothing to gain from me (except my trust, which I think is very important to them). I used the information they gave me to get the dealer to fix all of the problems. I love my new car, but I wish I could take it to Akron Auto Clinic for all of its repairs.

Never Again. They were friendly and nice at first, and got me in very quickly, but I was not happy at all with the service. I called and asked about getting an oil change, and for them to look at the problem I was having with my engine. I have no complaints about the oil change, except that when it was done they quoted me $745 for oil leaks they said needed to be repaired. I park in a parking garage every night, and had never noticed leaking oil under my car (but now there is). I asked multiple times about the problem with my engine, and the gentleman said that the oil change seemed to have fixed it. I seriously doubted that, and asked if the noise had stopped. He told me "well, I didn't listen to it myself, but the guy that changed your oil said it has stopped." My check engine light was not on when I brought my car there, but it was when I left, and my engine was making the exact same noise when I left as it was when I pulled in. I brought my car to a different mechanic a few days later, who immediately knew from the noise that I had a spark plug problem. The man I dealt with also insulted me slightly when he asked "well, do you even know where to put the oil in your car?" I am a girl, but that does not make me an idiot.

I am sorry we did not find the noise, I did listened and could not hear a noise. I was referring to earlier at the time you heard the noise. If the ticking would have been occurring at that time we were checking for it, locating and correcting it would have been easy and taken only seconds. I am very familiar with spark plugs coming out, we see it once or twice a year. The noise coming and going, like your case is a rare, but I have seen it. I am truly sorry we let you down. The check engine light coming on is a natural progression of the spark plug working its way out of the engine. The consequent misfire will trigger the check engine light. I am a sensitive and loving person and I would never ask you : "If you even knew where the dip stick was". You gave me no cause to be angry, you were kind and respectful when we finished serving you. Please accept my apology, I am sure we could have done better and hopefully we get another opportunity to win your approval.

The brakes hoses on my car had busted and I had taken it to another shop to get it looked at. They quoted me for $750 and also added things I didnt need. I knew of Akron Auto Clinic because my sister had taken her car there. They towed my car and checked it out and called me in a timely fashion. Also, they told me some of the things that "needed" fixed from the other place were perfectly fine. I dont think ill take my car to another shop again! They are so friendly and know what theyre doing. Theyre very reasonable on pricing too! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!!!

I've been taking my cars to Fred at the Akron Auto Clinic for years. It is family run, reliable, honest, fairly priced and they truly appreciate your business. Shuttle service is a huge plus and getting my car back clean is just the icing on the cake. You should take your car there too!

great experience

Was looking for a mechanics shop near my house that was affordable and trustworthy and I stumbled upon Akron Auto Clinic in the yellow pages online. I am thrilled with the service I received and will only take my car to this shop in the future. They are friendly, courteous and polite. they gave me no run around or BS. They gave me a comprehensive, honest explanation of what was going bad on my car and let me know what my car needed and what could wait a little while. I was thrilled that they dropped me off at my house while my car was being repaired and they picked me up when it was done. They also cleaned all the trash out of my car, vacuumed the carpet and cleaned my windows and dash board. EXCELLENT service. Would recommend to anyone who wants an honest quick mechanic. Will get all repairs done here in the future.

More then expected

They fixed my car fast and less cost then expected. They told me they washed the car, vacuumed it, put armoral on the interior, test drove it twice and put air in the tires; all for free. I said thanks to the guy who brought me the car. He said no problem we do that with every car. Wow!

Quick service beyond expectations.

I've taken several of my vehicles to Akron Auto Clinic over the years. Some of them had been real nightmares. I am consistently updated on the status of my repairs, any new diagnoses, etc. The technicians take the time to educate you as to what is wrong with your car, as well as provide some maintenance tips to keep you from needing to come back sooner than later. Recently they have began cleaning your car as part of any repair or service. This is an excellent touch, as it is usually a better job than I do washing the car myself!. I intend to go back for years to come.
