We Believe… At Akron First Assembly, our beliefs can be centered around our three-fold purpose of: Ministry to God Ministry to One Another Ministry to the World. Here is a brief out line of what we teach: •The Bible is our standard. ◦Everything we do, teach, and believe is based upon the Scriptures, the standard God has given us for life. From this flows the rest of our beliefs. •God is to be worshipped… Our Ministry to God ◦This means, we worship Him, Father, Son, and Spirit, with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength. This begins with a surrender to Him at a point of first belief, we call salvation. ◦We all need God, as we are all separated from Him because of sin. Jesus came and paid a sacrificial price so that we can come into relationship with Him again… to worship Him. •The Church is a Body…Our Ministry to One Another ◦The second of the greatest commandments says that we should love our neighbor as ourselves… this means that we are here to have relationship with one another. We teach that we are called to help and build up one another in our faith and love of God. ◦We also believe that the church is bigger than just us, and so we endeavor to connect with believers throughout the family of God. •We are called to reach out… Our Ministry to the World ◦The Holy Spirit has come to give us power to tell the story of Jesus and express His love for the whole of the world. God’s desire is that all be a part of His family through His Son, Jesus. We heed His command to go and tell others about the opportunity to join in relationship with God. We aim to be people, helping people, connect to God.
