He would pinch my lip between my tooth and his finger; it hurt because my lip was pinched. When I would pull my lip out he would say, "Oh come on, that doesn't hurt!" Bad Bedside Manner. When I needed to have my 3 wisdom teeth pulled, I didn't want him to do it. He wanted to do the procedure. I went to pay after he cleaned my teeth. The office manager was going to schedule the surgery for the wisdom teeth removal, and I said, "No, I will go somewhere else." Dr. Mc Vey chased me out to the parking lot to my car, trying not to let go of a patient. He offered a discount, but I didn't want him pulling my teeth with only Nitrous Oxide. No Thank you. That was in 1996. Another time, he was putting sealant on my molars. I was laying backwards in the chair, my head was way back, and the sealant fluid was dripping down the back of my throat, I was chocking and he says, "Oh it's not that bad!" And he was replacing sealant each year. I have switched dentist who says it's not necessary

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. McVay yesterday. I am in DC on business and dveleoped a dental emergency. Dr. McVays office was the only office in a 20 mile radius that was willing to fit me into their schedule. In addition to the willingness to accomodate, his care was outstanding. He and his staff are personable and empathetic. I wll definitely visit Dr. McVay again, and will recommend him to my family and friends that live in the DC area. MCR

Dr. McVay is a very caring and hard working dentist. He has done a considerable amount of work on me and everything has been top notch. His experience in everything from root canals to cosmetic surgery and his continuing education in all areas makes him a dentist you can go to for just about every need you can have. I highly recommend him.

I've been very pleased with Dr. McVay, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. And with over 22 years experience, he's certainly one of the best cosmetic dentists in all of Northern Virginia.

Wow, the last reviewer either woke up on the wrong side of the bed or perhaps is a competitor in the market since their review couldn't be further from the truth. I've had nothing but excellent results thru Dr. McVay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. I personally found him to be a nice guy, but frankly, nobody should choose their dentist based on a popularity contest. I choose my dentist based on the quality of his work, and Dr. McVay wouldn't have such a successful practice for over 26 years unless he clearly was doing things right and pleasing most his patients. I'll choose experience & expertise over personality anyday when it comes to my teeth!

Not a great doctor. Seems like he really doesn't like what he's doing; huge turnover in staff which is constant, and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
