Requested roofing quote for a home and garage via the company's website. Waited a week - no quote, no call. Called them, and was informed there was "something wrong with the website" and a time/date was scheduled for my quote to be done. I waited at home for 2 hours past the appointed time - no one showed. I called and was informed that someone would be there that day, that they were running late on another job - but I didn't have to wait around for them to do the quote. Nice - I wasted my time for nothing - if they had told me that, I could have gone on with my day and not waited for them. Still, no one showed up that day, or any day after that for the rest of the week. I called AGAIN the next week and was told someone would call me the next day. This time they did call me, and assured me someone would be out to do the quote. Later that day, an unmarked pickup truck pulled in, a man did a 2-minute walk around the house and left. Never got on a ladder or even knocked on the door to ask any questions or introduce himself. He was gone so quickly, there was no way he did a thorough inspection of the roof. I received a phone call a day later with a quote. I asked about the garage, and was informed the quote didn't include that - that the guy must have forgotten to do it, but they'd send him back out to do the measurements so they could quote it. No one ever showed up and no quote for the garage was ever received. Not quite trusting this company, I had another company come out today and do a quote. The man called ahead of time to discuss the roof, and set up a time to come out. He arrived on time, introduced himself, put his ladder up and started evaluating the roof. He came down and asked to see the attic, areas where the roof had leaked and the basement as well. It turns out the structure of the chimney is beginning to fail, and he said it would need to be fixed before he worked on the roof, to prevent any further damage to the chimney, or possible injury to his crew. Energy First, based on their from-the-ground quote, would have got up on the roof and discovered the chimney damage and possibly caused more damage than they actually repaired, or got up there and realized they couldn't do the work, because no one bothered to get up on a ladder or check the inside of the house at all - if they had, they would have seen the chimney problem and said they couldn't do the work until it was fixed, or worse, what if they didn't tell me about it and just did the roof? There are just too many strikes against them with this one quoting experience. I'll never use their services or ask for another quote from them again.

I had an awning by Sunsetter installed on my house by ENERGY FIRST of Alma two years ago. The first time I used it last year there was a tear in the awning. I called ENERGY FIRST and they called Sunsetter and replaced it. This summer I noticed a wear mark in the same spot and called ENERGY FIRST again but it took forever for them to respond and when they did they came to my house only to NOT fix the problem but knocked the awning out of pitch. When I ,mentioned it the gentleman said it was designed that way for the water to drain off. It wasn't like that before he started working on it. The product is great but the installation is something left to be desired. I give the rating a -1
