The three operating companies, Universal Scrap Metals ( USM ), USM Processing and USM Recycling buy non-ferrous, ferrous, precious metal bearing, used beverage cans ( UBC ), hi-temp alloys, electronic and composite metal scrap from industrial and manufacturing companies, recycling centers and independent scrap dealers. USM provides a full range of comprehensive scrap management services and technically advanced scrap handling equipment to all types of industrial accounts throughout metropolitan Chicago and the U.S. Universal does extensive scrap processing and preparation at our 180, 000 sf facility situated on 10 acres located 2 miles west of the Chicago Loop, and a satellite location in Alsip, Illinois.
