      General Info
      My training progressed through college at the University of North Texas, medical school at Loyola, Stritch school of medicine outside of Chicago. I have had a diverse residency training experience. I enjoyed an intern year in Internal medicine where I developed a passion for both psychiatry and neurology. I pursued a combined residency training program in both specialties of Psychiatry and Neurology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. While in residency I found that psychiatry was more rewarding. After four years in the residency program I decided to focus primarily on psychiatry and pursed board certification in psychiatry. I still find my neurology experience invaluable in my current practice. After five years total of residency training I can say that being exposed to several different and complimentary specialties has made me a far more effective clinician. I practiced psychiatry in many different areas and settings over the years. I have worked in both the inpatient and outpatient settings with the norm being several outpatient clinics and one or two different hospitals. Recently I have been focusing more so on my outpatient practice here in eastern Idaho where I have been practicing for over 12 years. I still spend four days per month however at two smaller clinics in the area which offers a chance to treat a more diverse patient population. I pride myself on being able to effectively treat the whole gamut of psychiatric issues. This extends from medication management, including Suboxone therapy to Insight Oriented and Cognitive Behavioral therapy if needed. Unfortunately it can be rare to find psychiatrists interested in more than just medication management. I feel I am trained and have the mindset to correctly diagnose, build a therapeutic alliance, and conservatively yet appropriately treat my patients issues.
