Avenel Street Elementary School is a part of the Woodbridge Township School District and provides academic classes to students in kindergarten through grade six. The school has a library and media center that provides access to a variety of resources and information to guide the educational process. Avenel Street Elementary conducts classes in language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, health and physical education, technology, and vocal and instrumental music. In addition, the school offers academic support instruction, child study, and off-site gifted and talented programs. Avenel Street School also offers the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) and accelerated reading programs. The school organizes reading and writing workshops for students who need extra assistance. Avenel Street School has a parent-teacher association that organizes various fundraising events, class trips and assemblies for students. The school is located in Woodbridge, N.J.
