- Medical Weight LossPatients with a BMI of greater than 30 to 35 may need to lose weight prior to treatment, depending on their body composition. Those with increased or severe skin laxity due to aging or excessive weight loss may not be good candidates for this procedure. Patients with chronic skin conditions or infections as well as those who are breastfeeding or have allergies to local anesthetics are not good candidates.
- RheumatologyThe ACGME alone has the sole authority to accredit all licensed residencies in the US, such as neurosurgery, orthopedics, Ob-Gyn, cardiology, emergency medicine, rheumatology, vascular surgery, pediatrics, and—you get the idea—plastic surgery! The “self-named,” “board-certified,” “cosmetic surgeon” is deliberately deceiving the public into thinking that they are extensively trained in the cosmetic surgery area of plastic surgery and have additional qualifications in aesthetic plastic surgery. Some states use “plastic surgeon” and “cosmetic surgeon” interchangeably, but the two groups are very far apart in expertise, standards of training requirements, and ethics.
- Pediatric Care
- Primary CareIllegitimate, “self-named-boards” exaggerate qualifications, certifications, and training. A doctor (or another medical practitioner) may have completed a weekend course about a procedure, and, yet, they advertise it. Doctors are moving out of primary care and other areas of medicine in large numbers, and they will pay groups for training with someone for a few months, watching someone do a procedure who may, in turn, also be inadequately trained.

- UltrasoundEmbrace™ begins where Ultherapy® and other treatments leave off. Ultherapy® is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses ultrasound technology to provide a boost of collagen production—it has much less effectiveness in tightening when compared with the Embrace™. This is true of Thermage also as well as CoolSculpting® and KYBELLA®. This is because Embrace™ uses safe, high-temperature RF technology to provide more consistent and uniform tightening and lifting while also improving the skin texture and quality. Ultherapy®, Thermage, CoolSculpting®, other fat reduction treatments, and other technologies do not affect the skin.
- MRIIDEAL IMPLANT® is a new kind of saline-based breast implant that has a unique design that consists of a structured (or baffled) outer-chamber with a stable inner-chamber. The saline solution fills the baffled outer silicone shell chamber, which makes the implant behave more like a gel, being softer than a standard saline implant with less rippling over the outer diameter. The IDEAL IMPLANT® offers a soft feel that is somewhat similar to that of silicone gel implants. It has the peace of mind that should an IDEAL IMPLANT® rupture, it will go flat, causing the involved breast to lose its volume and shape. Unlike silicone-filled implants, an MRI is not required to check the status of your IDEAL IMPLANT®.
- MammographyYes, to a variable degree, but this hasn’t increased the risk of breast cancer nor the risk of delayed diagnosis of cancer in clinical studies. Breast implants in the submuscular or “dual plane” interfere much less with mammography than above-muscle implants or those in the subglandular location. During your mammogram, your technician will do a special view called the “Eklund View” to bring the implant behind the breast tissue to minimize the areas that are not seen. Also, the newer digital and 3D mammograms are much better as a screening tool. Newer high-definition ultrasound systems are also much more sensitive in questionable areas as an adjunct to mammograms. MRI is a very sensitive way to assess for early breast cancer but is faulted on having false positives on occasion, where they see a suspicious area that turns out to be normal with biopsy.

- LiposuctionThe Smartlipo™ LaserBodySculpting Workstation provides aesthetic surgeons with a less invasive technique than conventional liposuction methods for fat reduction and body toning. His vast experience with thousands of happy breast augmentation patients and reputation is well-known throughout the community. Medical professionals and celebrities, as well as their friends and family members, praise his beautiful results and often seek out his care. He is well-known for his desire to understand and discuss his patients’ wishes and aspirations as well as his intimate, intuitive understanding of how breast implants and breast tissue work together to shape the breast. His artistic sensibility and understanding of how breast size relates to the proportion of a woman’s silhouette as well as her self-image and emotional well-being is an important consideration during your consultation.
- Breast ReductionDuring a breast reduction procedure, Dr. Stephens will reduce breast size by removing fatty tissue, excess skin and glandular tissue. The removal of this excess weight can also help breasts become firmer and reduce sagging. The nipple may also be raised or relocated during the procedure.
- Breast LiftMastopexy, or breast lift surgery, is actually a group of procedures that change and elevate the nipple and the breast “mound” on the chest. The type of mastopexy used depends on the severity of nipple sagging, the amount of breast tissue, the nipple size, and the amount of excess skin. Plastic surgeons reshape and lift the breast simultaneously, using the woman’s own breast tissue if available, called “autoaugmentation”. Adding implants may be done to provide improved shape or to enlarge the lifted breast, which is called “augmentation mastopexy.”

- Face LiftA well-executed facelift corrects skin laxity that results in a loose neck, sagging jowls, and the loss of youthful cheekbones. It leaves the face looking soft, refreshed, and natural. Evaluation of the aspects of facial aging involves an individualized strategy to correct the individual’s face by applying reliable and reproducible maneuvers. Changes in the underlying bone structure, the central fat compartments of the face, accumulated fat and the loss of muscle tone in the neck as well as the aging processes of the skin and underlying subcutaneous tissues are all considered. Assessment of the original underlying facial structures and knowledge of genetics and racial factors are also considered. Environmental damage can accelerate the aging process.
- Neck LiftThe results of your facelift surgery can last upwards of 10 years in most cases, as long as a healthy lifestyle is maintained and your skin is cared for properly. A well-done facelift cannot be performed in two to three hours. A nicely performed neck lift will last exceedingly long if the procedure is executed correctly. Facelifts done on younger patients tend to look more polished and last longer than in older patients, as the tissues have more holding power. The ideal time to have a facelift is when the tissues no longer support a youthful and refreshed look, leaving the face looking tired, with jowls, a loose, sagging neckline, flattened cheekbones, and droopy eyelids. These cause the face to lose its triangular youthfulness, becoming oval shaped without the striking contours in the cheeks and jawline.
- BlepharoplastyBlepharoplasty: Also known as an eyelid lift, this procedure lifts and rejuvenates the eyelids for a more youthful appearance.
- AbdominoplastyOur team strives to reduce the risks associated with abdominoplasty surgery by regularly updating safety recommendations and carefully adhering to safety guidelines and reviewing these risks with our patients. Serious complications are rare. The potential risks include: blood clots in the deep veins of the thighs and pelvis (DVT) and their possible risks of developing pulmonary embolism (PE), bleeding risks, fluid accumulation or bleeding, causing a collection called seromas or hematomas, poor healing of the navel, adverse anesthesia reaction, heavy scarring, and soft tissue loss because of poor circulation to the skin and infection. Dr. Stephens and his staff will discuss the risks involved with your procedure during your consultation.

It is believed to last up to six months, so we recommend scheduling injections two times per year. Restylane® has become the filler of choice for lip augmentation and tear trough deformity. - GynecomastiaGynecomastia is a condition defined as unusually enlarged breasts affecting men of all body types. It typically consists of disproportionately large and fatty, “glandular breasts,” similar to that of a woman’s breast, where there is a variable amount of true breast tissue, ranging from a larger collection of breast gland directly behind the nipple in a thin muscular individual to a full-sized female type, rounded breast usually found in heavier individuals. This is an increasingly common concern for men who desire that angular, defined, sexy, muscular chest. Gynecomastia procedures are among the most common cosmetic surgeries performed for men of all ages.
