Trained by her deceased father, Richard Menzel of Livingston, Karin is carrying on the family tradition for repairs of violins, violas, violoncellos, bass viols and bows. Skilled in damage repairs and sound-post adjustment, an expert with peg replacements and a careful refinisher of scars and scratches Karin performs or supervises every task with experience gained from years in Livingston and more recently on her own in Boonton. Close attention is particularly exercised for instruments for young beginners so that making musical notes is easiest for the beginners. I took training from Richard in the Livingston shop and learned instrument repair with Karin's help. I developed my repair abilities and worked on my own as a successful hobbyist for a school customer in Newark before retirement.
