I used this bakery to make my son's second birthday cake, and it came out perfect and was the most delicious cake. My extended family asks me to order a cake from this bakery every time we have a family function at our place. This bakery is, by far, is better than any other bakery in South Boston. I am no expert in any way, but have used many different bakeries throughout the city, and have been more than happy with Sweet Tooth.

I do agree with some of the other posts in that they do not have the best customer service. However, I think these other posts on this website have been by far exaggerated. This is the first review I've ever made online and do not often feel the need to leave a review normally. However, these reviews are not a true reflection on this bakery. It's most definitely delicious and would recommend to anyone I know or don't know.

This place deserves a 0 rating...

This place deserves a 0 rating but I'm being forced to give a star rating! I've uploaded a photo of the cake Sweet Tooth Boston made for my granddaughter Zuri-Tai's 1st birthday and another image on her of what I would've love the cake to look like or at least come close to it. I paid $225.00 and was refunded $50.00 because of a misunderstanding that baker Glenn Quirion sincerely apologized for and NOT out of good will as David Venter says. The cake topper was disrespectful to me, my family and for anyone that looks seen it. You look at the picture and tell me how would you feel? This image is on Yelp.com also.

Rudest Customer Service I Have...

Rudest Customer Service I Have Ever Encountered!

I looked at this store’s website and made a list of items I wanted to order for my daughter’s Sweet 16 party, a large cake, several dozen cupcakes, a couple dozen cookies- an order that would have totaled several hundred dollars. When I called the bakery, I initially said I had been on-line looking at their site and wanted to place an order and had seen a cake I liked and… I literally got not one word out past that initial statement when the owner started to lecture me about how they only do “custom cakes” and how whatever cake I saw was someone else’s idea of what they wanted and that I should think about what I wanted??? Puzzled, I tried to forge ahead by saying “well, I really liked what I saw on-line and would like to order something along the same lines…” but again, I was interrupted with more push-back from this jerk- “well we have to see how many people you need to feed and well, I don’t even know what cake you’re talking about” and was speaking as if he were completely harried and annoyed by my inquiry. You’re right buster—how dare I call and try to start a conversation about what prompted me to potentially make a purchase from you. At this point I asked him why he had 160 cake on-line in his gallery, if people weren’t supposed to use them as a guide to see the type of cakes available in that bakery”

His response was totally condescending, rude, arrogant in both tone and content: You have to understand about cakes, we are NOT a Chinese bakery just pumping out cakes…” at which point I interrupted him and said “Excuse me, I do know about cakes. I usually order my cakes from Konditor Meister, Icing on the Cake, Truly Jorgs, so I fully understand…” and then he interrupted me yet again to say that “we wouldn’t want a customer like you “ All of this in about 30 seconds and I hadn’t said a single objectionable thing or used a tone of voice that was anything other than inquisitive. I hung up on him.

Prior to entering the professional world, I was a waitress & a bartender. My husband and I owned stores where customer service was our number one priority. From those experiences, I always try to deal with people in a courteous manner and think I am a pretty good judge of the caliber of professional conduct by others. Who treats a potential customer this way who isn’t totally demented??????

Memo to Business Owner: You are not a misunderstood cake genius whose talents are wasted on the riff-raff who cannot appreciate your artistry. You are not a Da Vinci in baker’s clothing---you make cakes in the shape of pocketbooks & baseball diamonds, Okay? Nice, but nothing of yours is headed to a museum! Since you have such a strong desire to only work with the discerning palates of other “cognoscenti” like yourself I hope you get your wish- all the way to the bankruptcy court where you will be in great company with lots of other rude people with a good product & no business acumen.
