We needed new disposal. Called My Plumber for estimate. Wouldn't give estimate over phone. Had to have technician come to house. He confirmed we needed new disposal. Said exact replacement, Insinkerator Badger 5, would cost $624.07, or upgrade would cost $790.26. Since I had called Home Depot aqnd determined it would cost $99.96 if bought from them, I questioned My Plumber's cost. He said only they don't buy from Home Depot. In the end, with minor discounts, I paid $526.67 for new disposal and installation, or more than $400 for and hour's labor. Thank God there are other plumbers in the world!
