Our daughter was signed up for a dance class on Wednesday’s at Dancers Edge in Brighton, CO.

When we came back, class was almost over. My son stuck his head in the class to watch his sister dance, she poked her head out and all the other mamas were quick to say, “no, no go back in.” I was puzzled in that moment. The mamas said, “oh, are you her mom?” & they proceeded to tell me that my daughter was found out roaming around the block of Main Street. A stranger brought her back and that is when the other mamas knew she had left (maybe others saw her roaming, never got this confimed). If you know Main Street in brighton, it is a busy road, it was during rush hour, you also know that there are multiple bars.
When I found out what happened. I was in a state of shock. Told the owner what happened and left. Once we started processing what had happened, we decided we wanted to report to the police to have an official report and to look into surveillance to see how long she was actually gone, since no one knew.

Later, I received an email from the owner and later my husband talked to the police after they questioned her and she is claiming that my daughter never left. Quoted from the email, "I spoke to Miss (blank) and she said the reason she let your daughter leave the studio room is because she wanted to get her tap shoes so it sounds like she did go through the lobby area not the side door, (blank) said she never lets the dancers go through that other door. That's neither here nor there but I just wanted you to know that." That tells us they let a 3 year old leave their supervision. That should never be allowed. My daughter did leave the building and this is proof that her & her staff member had no idea she was gone and for how long. My daughter told me and so did 4 other women who were sitting there. She went out a side door that was unlocked, that led her to an alley.
