About The Burly Corporation of North America Joe H. Davenport founded Burly Fence and Hardware, our original company name. The business philosophy that Joe Davenport operated his fence company under, is still being practiced today. Today, after over fifty years of growth, Burly is one of the largest manufacturers of barbed wire and field fence and a major supplier of industrial and residential chain link fencing in the country. Burly is the Manufacturer of SHEFFIELD WIRE PRODUCTS®, a name that has been associated with quality since 1888.
