This store will most likely appeal to those who like bright shiny objects but cannot see the rust underneath. Although the place is usually clean and bright, to look closely you find the place undoubtedly has a roach problem. The livestock here seem predominantly healthy, but then again I've only witnessed a few mortalities, which is common for this business, but who knows how much they are hiding? They do get some interesting varieties now and then but usually obtainable elsewhere for less $$.The products they stock are limited to only a very few common brands, found cheaper at Petco too. The employess are usually pleasant and well informed, but the owner, a guy named Dave is a bit of an overbearing a__hole who actually pursuades me not to buy anything and just leave the store. Kind of a shame, he should just have someone else run his store for him.

This place sucks. drove all the way from Fredericksburg to pick up a special order to find out the guy sold it right before I arrived. All he could say was I can order you another, what an asshole.

I guess I would shop here if it was an emergency, but the prices are ridiculously high and livestock health is questionable at best. Fish on display for sale are frequently sick or even dead. Not to mention the service I get usually ranges from rude to just okay. Last time I stopped by, the owner was arguing with another customer, and it sounded like the customer was right, but then again, isn't the customer always right? I would rather go out of my way than give this guy my business.
I shopped here a few years back, but recently I see most of the good people are gone, prices have gone way up on most items and selection and condition of fish seem pretty shabby. Another place going down the tubes.

It seemed that this store was a decent place to buy fish needs, but recently I dropped by and was stunned by the shabby appearance of the fish, some had ich and other diseases, some were dead. I was like OMG! And the prices on everything has gone way up. Shop here? I think not!
I've been in there a few times and the marine selection is limited but the staff has always been friendly to me... Here's my gripe, I'm looking to upgrade to a larger tank, called the store and they said they wan $799 for an undrilled 150 gal tank. That is crazy I can drive two hours to PA and get the same tank for $500. I love to support local stores and think everyone should, but this type of price gouging is what forces us all away. Its a real shame, but I'll be stocking my new tank from retailes who understand what a fair profit margin is... check prices before you buy here!

Superb. The owner and his staff are among the most knowledgeable people within the freshwater and marine scene. Although the dry goods prices are a bit more than hoped, it is compensated with the fact that they accept your own fish and exchange it with a coupon. The store hours are convenient, and they also offer their help through the telephone. It may be smaller than Petco and Petsmart, but it is definitely worth visiting. The only downfall is it's size - they are limited to a wide variety of products.

I've been setting up a new marine system and the owner David has spent a tremendous amount of time with me sharing his knowledge and expertise. I highly recommend their services.
The staff is polite and helpful and what a great selection of fish and products they carry. This is definately the place to shop for all your aquarium needs. Forget the "big name stores," you won't get help there like you do at Centreville Aquarium.
David, and his gang really have it together. Petsmart and Petco, just tell you what you want to hear, but David will tell when you're doing something wrong. He wants you to succeed and for my money, that goes a long way. I also think he sell some of the best products.
They are very knowledgeable, they saved my fish's life.I'm extremely grateful!Krystal
They are an absolutely wonderful pet store. I would much rather go to the Centreville Aquarium than any of the big chains!!
When trying to start a new aquarium we had 4 disasters, and a bad shopping experience at another pet store . Centerville Aquarium's knowledge and helpfulness was a relief, our tank is a success in the works! The selection and price is impressive!
