      Founded in 1893, Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston is a nonprofit organization that serves more than 13,000 youths and teenagers. It offers programs in the areas of education, health and life skills development and athletics. The organization additionally provides sports, recreational, and science and technology programs. It offers crisis intervention, advocacy, referral and clinical case management services. The organization also conducts group workshops and field trips. Its educational programs include homework assistance, tutoring and mentoring services. The organization s Young Leader program includes job readiness, conflict resolution, assault prevention and academic support services. Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston maintains one of its locations in Charlestown, Mass. It is a part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which is a national network of more than 3,500 neighborhood-based facilities.
