- LYDIA Home Association began in 1916 as a ministry to orphans and has branched out to offer Christ-centered service to children and families across the Chicago, IL, area. Our programs meet the needs of a changing society, but our purpose remains strong ? to provide support and a safe place to children in need, and to make families stronger across the Chicago, IL, area. Our programs include: ? Residential treatment for abused and neglected children ? Foster care ? Short-term crisis care ? Child abuse prevention ? Counseling centers ? Alternative high school We are dedicated to creating healthy homes for children, and to providing comfort and healing to children who have been abused. We have expanded to other cities in Illinois and even overseas to France and Romania. Our vision is to see every child loved and cared for.
