Founded on September 8, 1883 under the name Evening News by James Montgomery Bailey, known as the 'Danbury News Man.' The Evening News has since flourished. In 1933, the Danbury Evening News and the Danbury Times merged and the newly formed newspaper, the Danbury News-Times.
