Founded in 1918, Food City is a retail grocery store. Based in Dandridge, Tenn., the store offers products under a range of brands, including Academix, Domestix, Top Care, World Classics, Paws and Full Circle. It offers a variety of tools, hardware, cell phone accessories, gifts, toys, cosmetics and health care products under the Dollar Zone brand. Additionally, Food City purchases an array of items from local growers, such as tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, cabbage, peppers, gourds, pumpkins, watermelons and strawberries. K-VA-T Food Stores Inc., the parent company, operates more than 106 retail food outlets in the tri-state region of southeast Kentucky, southwest Virginia and northeast Tennessee.
