I found American Auto Salvage & Recycling by accident when I came to Yelp to write a negative review of a similar business in Deland. I wish there were more stars I could give to American Auto Salvage & Recycling!

I was looking for a location to sell my 1997 Mercury Cougar XR7 (great condition inside, ran great, needed outside cosmetic TLC) and am SO HAPPY to have found this company. It is run extremely professionally with owners/employees that make one feel almost like family. Special thank-yous to Kenny who was my first contact via phone, Jeff who towed my car to the facility, and Josh who weighed the car and completed the financial transaction.

If I ever need spare parts for my current car, I know where I'm going!!!

This is a great place to go to find that hard to find part.I have been going there for years and have always found Kenny and his sons to be very helpful.They have a great assortment of parts and cars and are all organized by makes and models wouldnt go anywhere else!

Despite the fact that they have many auto bodies to choose from, I was very dissatisfied with the way things are ran there. Small spaces to move vehicles for unloading aluminum and one-way in and out of the junk yard. The manager, Kenny, openly carried a .357 Magnum S&W. I felt REAL intimidated by the sight of that and left quickly after unloading some aluminum.

This place sure is a local favorite. Check it out, you'll love it!They even have old cars back to the 40's. I love going there, whether to recycle my aluminum and copper or find a used part. They have old neat stuff sitting around, it's like stepping back in time. It is family owned and ran and the dad and his sons are always fair and friendly. The dad is a Buy American kinda guy.They don't charge for you to go in the yard to look either.

I've been going there for years to get parts and to scrap. When it came to parts they either had it, or sent me in the right direction on where I could find it, and this was done over the phone. With scrap, they were always fare with me and paid a decent price. I've never been screwed over on my weight, unlike the bigger scrap yards that "pay more." Over all, these people are great to talk to and are always willing to help out! =]
