The billing department had a typo from my insurance card. They sent me a bill telling ME to investigate it. "It stated there was a subscriber level error. Please call your insurance and investigate this" So, I called them again due to THEIR mistake. I got another bill. I called again and conferenced in my insurance company (BlueCross) and the two of them figured out AGAIN what the doctor's office was doing wrong. Everyone was happy. I have received yet two more bills ($115 - I paid my copay at the time of the appointment). Called again - still not cleared up - and they're making notes to try again. Mistakes happen but this is the first time a company made a mistake multiple times and told me it was my responsibility to call insurance. What do I tell them? They employ subpar people who cannot do their jobs? I cannot correct a typo on their part with my insurance company. I will NOT go back. By the way, the PA that I saw was less than polite.
