The company also practices for the selection of therapies and the monitoring of disease progression. It works in alliance with Celera Diagnostics to develop and market a range of next-generation molecular diagnostics products for unmet medical and laboratory needs. Abbott Molecular provides genomic tests for chromosome changes associated with congenital disorders and cancer, including the Vysis PathVysion HER-2 DNA Probe kit. It also offers Herceptin therapy and UroVysion, which detects genetic changes in bladder cells for use in monitoring bladder cancer recurrence in women with metastatic breast cancer.
