      General Info
      The Heart of Georgia Community Action Council offers a range of community-based services for disadvantaged individuals. The council provides emergency assistance, commodity food distribution, and information and referral services. It offers home management, budgeting, energy conservation and mortgage counseling solutions. The Heart of Georgia Community Action Council supports the Head Start program, which provides child nutrition and early intervention services for children between the ages of 3 and 5 from low-income families. The council also offers contract transportation, housing rehabilitation, and job preservation and creation services. It offers personal support solutions, such as shopping and housekeeping for elderly and handicapped persons. The Heart of Georgia Community Action Council supports the Senior Center Program. It serves more than 35 counties in the United States.
