I am truly dismayed to find that Dr. Mike Deutsch and the Zoo Animal Hospital are no longer there! Apparently, he sold the practice which is now "Vista Largo"; same building, same phone number, same cool tropical insect wall displays, but the new vets do NOT do birds! They are self-described as "Cats and dogs only; and the occasional 'pocket pet' " whatever that is. The Zoo team was fabulous with every kind of critter wild or domestic. It was a joy entering the clinic - all sorts of free roaming animals greeted you, yet the clinic was impeccably clean. Dr. Mike was exceptionally well informed in current avian medicine (my specific concern) and all the staff members were professional and compassionate. The loss of the "Zoo" has shattered my peace of mind and I am sick at heart and stomach. I envy the community who gets Dr. Deutsch. Dr. Mike, where did you go?! I hope that you are okay!

I wouldn't go anywhere else! They provide professional service, and have great prices. Dr. Mike and his staff support many local shelters and rescue agencies. Dr. Mike also knows all about injured wildlife. They have done house calls and stayed many hours after closing to help my pets. They have treated my cats, and dogs, even my sheep, snakes, and turtles. What an asset to Edgewood!
