By FAR- The WORST Customer Service of My Life

Horse back riding was supposed to be a highlight to our trip to Mt. Rainier. Instead, my friend and I brought 4 very excited children to EZ times and ended up leaving with them in tears. We arrived, as directed, 20 mins before our scheduled ride. We didn't find a person or even a note. After patiently waiting for 40 mins someone finally arrived on property. Shannon, the guide, had been on another ride. She completely ignored us for the next 10 mins while she chatted up the previous customers. She asked us to fill out paper work then was quite loudly talking about us to the other custmers in a very condescending tone "Well I guess THESE people are going to have to be wearing helmets, they didn't initial the form at the bottom". That was just the start. When it went from bad to worse was just before our ride. The little girl in our party, who lives for horses, began noticing the differences in the Western bridle and the English-which she has been USING for 4 years in Australia. Shannon, proceeded to tell her she was wrong in her observations and how superior the western saddles are and how superior her knowledge of riding and horses is and basically how lucky we were to have her 40 years of experience to guide us. The "Grande Finale" was when my friend's husband came to meet us. He had come back with lunch, as it was now close to the time we should have been returning. Our party was still saddling up so he said he just wanted his daughter to have bite of a sandwich. Shannon physically DRAGGED her off the horse, very roughly setting her down. She then told us, WE were going to make HER late for her next appt! We should have went for lunch when we saw she wasn't there in the first place!!! We had some disagreement with those comments, she then offered to call off the ride and we happily accepted . At this point, she threatened to not return our $240, claiming we had signed the contract with no refunds. She did, in the end, give us the money back, which is why I am only writing this review and not contacting the BBB. Shannon may know horses but she most certainly does NOT know people!

Horse Backriding at E-Z Times

A few days back my girlfriend and I went on a 2 hour ride with a guide (Shannon) at E-Z Times we had a blast she was informative and social. We (my girlfriend and I) have been riding for many years now..however with the weather lately and the hills we weren't sure of the terrain and the horses. She assured us that we were perfectly safe and to enjoy the ride. She didn't want us to get to far behind for safety reasons...we were out in the forest with wild life so she was concerned for our safety at all times. When we returned to the barn she helped us down by holding the horses for us. Saying "It would be horrible to go through a 2 hour horse ride only to fall off back at the barn." If anyone asks us for something to do year round we would recommend going out and seeing Shannon she is a good and informative guide. We will be going out that way more...and bringing friends she can take up large groups ( More fun)

Great horses! beautiful trails! Horrible guide

My sister and are both very experienced riders. I myself have been riding for 20 years and have my own horse that I just retired. I have also worked at rent strings and rented horses from various places in the past and I have never been treated so rudely before at any place of business. The trail guide Shannon was incredibly condescending and rude to my sister and treated us like a couple of idiots. Even after we told her how much experience we had she still continued to try and makes us feel like we knew nothing. On the other hand Eric the trail (guide in training )who also accompanied us was very polite and new how to talk to customers. I would only recommend this place if you could guarantee a ride by a guide other then Shannon.

Good horses, crummy guide

We received no introductions and very little direction, despite two first-timers in our group. Our guide (Shannon) was yelling at us within the first 100 yards, "Stay off the grass!" If my horse fell more than 5 yards back from the horse in front of it, the guide would yell at me to keep up. Seriously, I was yelled at more than 6 times. The guide took all of the fun out of an otherwise nice afternoon. The guide had difficulty getting her own horse to move at times; one time, in response, she got OFF of her horse, jerked down on the reins several times and kicked the horse in the underside (all the while holding a lead to the horse with our most inexperienced rider)! Overall, the horses were good, but the guide needs training.
