I have never had a worst experience in a doctors office before. The people who work in the office are the worst! I don't like calling out people, but you, Cathy, are the worst! You make your patients feel unwelcome!

Avoid this place because they don't know how to run a front desk and even mix up doctors. I am never coming back again! Good day!

P.S. This place smells of kitty litter and cigarette butts!

DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR WITHOUT READING THIS FIRST!!

I am a Registered Nurse who was injured on the job --- my lower back. I was referred by Work Comp to see Dr. George Frey, and although he seemed pleasant enough at first meeting, you could tell he was always watching the clock to move on to his next patient which I should have taken as a major hint not to use him for upcoming surgery. But unfortunately, I let him do my spinal fusion which according to the many tests and the disc-o-gram in particular showed 3 levels to be involved; L3-4 through S1--Dr. Frey decided to do only L3-4. After the surgery, my pain never went away and I kept going to his office which I always dreaded because the wait time was always at least an hour or more and then only to be pushed off onto his PA when I had specifically requested an appointment with Dr. Frey. On one of my later appointments, I was placed in a patient room with a PA that kept running back and forth from my room to Dr. Frey who was obviously too busy to leave his in house staff meeting to see me, his patient--I was in that office for that appointment for over 2 hours and never did get to see Dr. Frey--I was so humiliated and angry that he cared so little--NO SERVICE AFTER THE SALE is a very appropriate term I thought of--he made his money off me so did not want to be bothered any longer. I then made another appointment that I had to wait over and hour-and-a half which I had to cancel because I had to pick up my daughter from school---this Doctor has no respect for their patients time and never gave an explanation of why Dr. Frey was running late! Here is the whopper and the reason I would not recommend Dr. Frey to do surgery on anyone. As I stated, he only fused level L3-L4, when he should have fused all levels---L3-4, L5-S1. When I finally was able to get an actual appointment with Dr. Frey, I asked why he only fused the one level when the Disc-o-gram clearly showed all levels to be reactive to pain--he pulled out my test results and looked at them as though he had never seen them before and agreed it was indeed reasonable to include those levels as well--great, because he did not take the time needed prior to the first surgery to accurately lay out a proper plan for surgery, I was now going to not only miss more work but have to endure another surgery. At that point I did not trust or feel comfortable with Dr. Frey so upon the recommendation of one of his own office staff, I was recommended to see Dr. Sanjay Jatana who did all the proper tests and read them thoroughly and agreed that all 3 levels should have been done in the first surgery. Upon Dr. Jatana re-opening up my back, he found that the 1 level Dr. Frey had done now had 2 fractures in it from his surgery and had to be repaired by Dr. Jatana--do not only did Dr. Frey not do all the correct levels, but the one level he did do, he damaged even further. If all this was not bad enough, Dr. Frey was not happy that I went for a second opinion with another doctor, so when Work Comp was trying to find doctors to disagree with Dr. Jatana who stated I needed the additional 2 levels fused, Dr. Frey all of a sudden changed his opinion (after fully documenting fusing the additional levels was a reasonable next course of action), he now stated that they did not need to be fused. NOTHING WORSE THAN A SO-CALLED TRUSTWORTHY PHYSICIAN WHO LIES???? DR. FREY, DON'T YOU REMEMBER YOUR HIPPOCRATIC OATH???? THE FIRST THING IS TO DO NO HARM---YOU NOT ONLY DID NOT DO THE CORRECT LEVELS OF MY SPINE BUT YOU FURTHER DAMAGED THE LEVEL YOU DID DO AND THEN LIED ABOUT THE NEED TO DO THE ADDITIONAL LEVELS WHEN YOU PREVIOUSLY STATED IN YOUR OWN ORIGINAL NOTES THAT I WOULD FURTHER BENEFIT FROM HAVING THE ADDITIONAL LEVELS FUSED---SO WHAT IS YOUR EXCUSE FOR THIS CHANGE OF OPINION-WITHOUT ANY OTHER TESTS THAT WERE EVER VIEWED BY YOU MAY I ASK????

I'm curious what Dr. Frey's response to the disgruntled patient is. I'm no stranger to surgery and back pain and unfortunately have been through offices that were more interested in double booking appts and forcing people to wait hours on end. I've simply left offices in the past only to find a specialist that does care about the patient, their time, and the reputation of their work. I'd like to see answers before I make the decision to go under the knife at the Colorado Comprehensive Spine Institute... no star ratings until I'm satisfied and able to fully evaluate this organization.

Great Care

I had 5 back surgeries before I was referred to Dr. Frey and his team. Needless to say, I am a veteran of back doctors and clinics. My experience there has been nothing short of excellent. I would recommend them to anyone. The clinic space is warm and comfortable. Everyone smiles, and made me feel at ease right away. They were always professional, respectful and courteous. Dr. Frey spent over an hour with me on my first visit alone. He took the time to explain everything to me; something the 3 prior surgeons had never bothered to do. He educated me about why I was still in pain, and what might be done to fix it. He did not rush to cut me. He tried everything else first.

I have to say this, because my experience was very diferent from that of GoldenRN. Maybe she likes to get lots of surgery? I do not.... Dr. Frey did eventually do a very complex surgery on me in 2009, and I am already 80% better. He was able to do, what 3 other surgeons, and five prior surgeries could not. You decide. :)
