General Info
The reason I became a dentist was to show people another side of dentistry. I wanted to bring a softer side of dentistry, with comfort, compassion, and precision, to everyday people like myself. I want people to get the dentistry that I always wanted to receive. No one goes to the dentist for fun; my goal is to have my office be a safe, pain-free environment where my patients feel completely at ease. I graduated high school in 1983 and became involved in dentistry by working in the denture lab at UCLA. This built upon my foundation in the arts by utilizing my love of working with my hands. California State University at Northridge University of Texas at Houston School of Dentistry My passion in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry led me in my lifelong pursuit of surgical and prosthetic education. I have worked and studied in Texas, New Mexico, and Virginia, and incorporate all that I have learned to enhance my practice. For more than 20 years, I have tried to excel at what I do to become a master at the art of dentistry and all its facets. Painfree!!...Totally awesome experience if you can say that of a dental visit!!!
The filling I got post route canal is the best filling I've ever had. With past dentists I've not been able to floss due to pain from the filling. With Dr.Hangval I've had no issues and My mouth feels great. Would recommend to anyone!(:
Dr Hangval did a great job with my implants. It was not an easy decision to make, but I felt very good under his care and am glad we went ahead with getting them done.
I had 12 crowns replaced and the results were fabulous!
Dr Hangval has pulled my teeth, capped some, repaired fillings, done implants, and gently encouraged me throughout some scary evaluations. I wish everyone could have such a positive experience with their dentist. Also, the office staff is awesome!
Had a wisdom tooth extraction & went excellent. No pain!!! (Where as a previous experience with many other dentists where terribly painful). The whole crew is soooo kind and accomodating. They always manage to find an early appointment time for me. I cannot say enough good things about this Dentist and his team. Our family loves them and so pleased we found a reliable and wonderful dentist.

I LOVED THE EXPERIENCE!!! Since i was a kid i hated going to the dentist because it was a horrifying ordeal. Not with Contemporary Dentistry of Virginia. Doctor Reza was very gentle and very aware or just cared if i was comfortable. His staff is top notch. i wouldnt want to send my family or friends any where else for dental work. Honest diagnosis couldnt be happier with the service. EVERYONE WAS AMAZING!!!!
My first visit with Dr. Hangval was an overall great experience. He, along with his staff (I met Amy and Shannon) were friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. I've had such bad experiences with dentists in the past but they eased my tensions and anxiety. I truly feel like I am in good hands. Thank you!!

Dr. Hangval was able to find the source of a problem when other dentists could not, and addressed it quickly and effectively. He also designed a really effective nightguard that has saved my teeth from cracking.
He is a great dentist. He spends the time to explain his assessment and procedures.
