General Info
Kincaid's began back in 1946 as a grocery store in Fort Worth named Charles Kincaid's Grocery and Market. It was the first grocery store in the area to have specialty departments, including a full-service meat market with O.R. Gentry as the head butcher. In 1964, O.R. began cooking burgers on a small grill in the back for the neighborhood locals. Using the best cuts of meat and the freshest vegetables from the produce section, the burgers soon became the talk of the town. The grocery store shelves were cut down to countertop height to provide a place for customers to eat and many of the grocery items were removed to give space for tables. Over time, Kincaid's evolved from a grocery store to a hamburger institution.
