Our heat went out in the midst of 20 degree temperatures. We called one of those $50 service call places, and the "technician" took only five minutes to determine that our 7-yr. old system needed to be completely replaced. We found this suspect, so based on a referral from a fellow church member we contacted Comfort Heating and Cooling. They reponded quickly and a real technician, not a salesman, arrived. He took his time and determined that the only issue with our system was a "capacitor." He not only explained the problem but showed us the part in question, using terminology that we could really understand. We now have a service agreement with Comfort, and couldn't be happier. We've been through the ringer with HVAC companies--it seems every time a "tech" comes out, we are pushed to buy all kinds of gadgets and gizmos. Comfort's technicians come out to diagnose and repair, not to make sales quotas. What a breath of fresh air!

BE AWARE, these people no longer do boilers (which seems really, really odd as many homes in Fredericksburg still have them). Nor do they even look at your records with them. They are the only folks we have ever used, and they "didn't know" we had a boiler when I called them? Their website and advertising still says "full service" but they only service certain types of heating and cooling systems. After 12 years, we have to find a new service provider.
