I usually don't write reviews, but I adore all the vets at Haymarket. I have a needle shy, vet hating horse, and they are all wonderfully patient with her. She had a melanoma removed last year and Dr. Freckleton was so great with explaining everything to me and helping me make decisions regarding my mare. They're always available for questions, are always responsive in emergencies and are wonderful people to work with.

I had the worst experience using Haymarket vet. They were charging me a crazy amount for things that I could be doing myself. They went into my tack room to get the antibiotics my horse was on, gave my horse the antibiotics without consulting me, and then charged me for them giving the antibiotics to him. What if my horse had already received the antibiotics? They were also very persistent with dropping off more antibiotics at my barn so they could charge me a farm fee instead of me picking them up at the office for free. I'm assuming they saw my Google review because I received a letter from Haymarket Vet today that read, "We understand that you have been unhappy with our services. At this time we are closing your account and terminating our veterinary-client relationship." If they are looking for a "veterinary-client relationship", they should have earned my trust instead of taking advantage of me. I never once received a phone call to discuss my concerns.

We have reached out to Reanna W., inviting her to come in to discuss her concerns, and are waiting for a response from her. It is unfortunate that she has not been happy with us but we treated her horse recently, despite knowing that the initial bad review had been posted. Her horse’s care is a priority for us and we want her to have a consistent relationship with a veterinarian that she trusts and it seems that we are not that practice, so that is why we offered to send her horse’s records to another vet.

Be careful which veterinarian you get. My poor pony was treated aggressively for colic when she did not even have colic. I was charged more than I was told I would be charged and the only response I get when asked for a refund of the overpayment is that they forgot some things they should have charged me for.
