I love this store. Wide selection of games on various consoles, it's a retro gamers dream. It is the only store I trust for my gaming repairs and for finding those games I loved as a kid. The owner really cares and you can tell he loves what he does. This store is a MUST visit for all classic and current gamers!

I went into Classic Game Junkie to have my iPhone 6 screen replaced they did it for $100. Their warranty lasts for 3 months after the date the screen is repaired. My screen came apart from the LED screen two weeks after their warranty expired. I took my phone back and after waiting for 15 minutes the repair guy told me that he would not make me pay the service fee to replace the screen, but they would cut me an amazing deal and have me only pay $60 for a new screen. I found this to be slightly unfavorable considering it was their cheap and faulty screen that fell apart in the first place. When the screen came apart from the LED, my touch ID chip broke in the home button. three days ago I attempted to update my iPhone to the new IOS system. I was met with an error message in iTunes, error 53. After repeated attempts with the same result I took my phone to the apple sore. I learned that with a broken Touch ID chip there is no way to verify the apple software so the phone is unusable. Since my screen had been opened somewhere other than an Apple store, there is nothing Apple can do for me but sell me a new phone. I'm a college student so this isn't an option. I also learned that Apple replace screens with their quality screens and that if something does go wrong they will fix it or replace your phone. So in conclusion, go to Apple and not these amateurs at Game Junkie who care little about the customer.

This store is video game Valhalla. Speaking from personal experience I am at this store once a week minimum. And for good reason. This store is incredible.

Let's start with the selection. Their inventory is akin to a museum of video game history except pretty much everything is for sale. You name a system they prolly have games for it. NES, SNES, famicom, virtual boy, n64, GameCube, genesis, Saturn, 32x, Atari, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox one, PS1, PS2,PS3, PS4, game boy, DS, 3DS, neo geo, PC, turbo grafx, PSP, PS vita, Wii, Wii U, you name they prolly have stuff for it. And it's not just the games. They have systems AND offer warranties on them. And accessories for pretty much most of the systems they sell. And since their inventory is constantly receiving new trade ins there's good reason to come back on a regular basis to see what new treasures have come in. And even if you don't need any actual gaming systems or game they have a large amount of gamer swag and gear to deck out any game room or entertainment center.

Next let's talk services. You know how you can reserve the newest games at major retailers? Yeah they got that too. Including midnight release openings that are always fun to attend. They also offer repairs on most systems and devices (cell phones included) that are done quickly and reliably. Games as well can be refurbished, resurfaced, or professionally cleaned. When I recently got my hands on a particularly rare game they were they only ones I would let touch this game to clean it up. And I live within a 20 minute drive of 4 retro game stores.

And lastly the people at the store. This is the one thing I cannot praise enough about this store. The store is primarily run by a family who chief among them is the owner who is the most friendly and helpful guy you will ever meet. Going to this store and talking to him is like going to your friends house to play video games and talk about whatever you feel like. Him and his family and co workers are funny, friendly, real, and above all else knowledgable. Anytime I have questions, I can always count on someone there knowing what I need to know. It's obvious to anyone who goes here frequently that video games are these peoples' passion and this store is a labor of love I can't find anywhere. I know this review is long, but honestly, I am a customer for life at this business and they definitely deserve a try.

This place is absolutely amazing. They are hands down one of the best stores to go to for retro games and modern classics. Their prices are typically very well done, and they have an extensive library of games to collect. They keep their merchandise in good condition, and I have never been stiffed on a trade in or purchase. They handle the customers well at the store, and the staff are all very friendly and willing to help. I've been to this store at least once a month, maybe more, since I began college in the area. I take new people to it every year, and I myself just keep coming back.

Classic Game Junkie is an excellent store for retro and modern games. The owner and his staff are extremely knowledgeable about the games and systems. They also do professional console, tablet, and phone repair. Overall the store is a wonderful experience. From the retro game music, art, and merchandise to the latest console releases I always find something new to play at Classic Game Junkie. It's always fun to look in the case to see what new and interesting games have come in. I've lived in the area my entire life and this was the game store I always wished we would have in town.

why shop at at the big box stores

This place has it all. Great people. Great selection and a fun atmosphere. Repairs most anything. And shopping locally is always good for the community. Those big box stores can't give you the friendliness that a local, family owned store can.

Whats not to love about this store and the people that work there?! You can find anything you want and need, the places is always clean, They work with you, AND they can fix pretty much anything you need fixed. The game room is lovely and spacious. More stores need to take notes from Game Junkie. What else is better thank coming into a store getting great friendly service and being able to hang out with your friend there and get some games in?! It just doesn't get any better than this place. I HIGHLY recommend going here.

Hands down, Game Junkie is an awesome place. The owner's a jolly guy with lots of laughs and good humor, and always makes you feel welcome in the store. There's good trade-in value for games, and a homey atmosphere about the place that has me stopping in to say Hi more often than not. I know some people aren't particularly fond of the kids in the store during business hours, but I appreciate this family-owned business for what it is and the kids are a welcome reminder of that.

The staff is highly interactive and customer service is outstanding. They actually CARE about your satisfaction at the store, and make a point to remember who you are and get to know you. It is definitely the people that make this store wonderful.

Classic Game Room Junkie is the game store with a soul. I've been going to this place for the last two years. The owners are friendly and very helpful. Their selection is second to none in the area, they even stock on collector editions for some of the most recent games. If they don't have what your looking for? Just tell them what you want, and they'll get it for you in a few weeks. Other game stores just don't work like this. Plus it's a glorious atmosphere when you walk in, great arcadey sounds and gaming props galore. If your feeling down, you instantly start feeling better once you walk into the store. And it's almost impossible to leave without buying something due to the wide and surprising selection of games and consoles. Even the most obscure pieces of hardware are on display here. Highly recommended.

One thing that differentiates Classic Game Junkie from other video game stores? Heart. There are no video game stores as friendly and helpful as CGJ, and the people there really love their games and its history. Not only do they sell modern console games, they also restore video game systems from days past, even selling some less-known systems such as Vectrex and Magnavox. With a selection that boasts over 30 years of gaming, the place is a trip just to see some of the older systems on display. The place also sells various portable handheld games (Game Gear, N-Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, various forms of the Game Boy, and more) and has various collector's items as well(Power Glove, R.O.B.), so there are plenty to see.

CGJ differentiates from other stores by offering services that a gamer needs often; restoration and most importantly, repairs. They can repair all systems and the various problems that a system might get during its lifespan, and they have a 6 month warranty on all their repairs. If there's a problems they can't fix, chances are, it's because no one else can, either. You can just drop off your consoles and they'll give you a friendly reminder by phone when it's ready to be picked up. The costs are not over the top, and they vary by consoles and problems. They've recently started fixing phones, such as screen cracks and such. The owner also does mods for your controllers, so if you want LED lights on your controllers or whatnot, this is the place to go to.

CGJ also has a party room with 6 TVs and one big viewing TV in the center, so various gaming tournaments have been held, (shooting games, fighting games, sports games, etc) and the turnout's usually great. It's an awesome way to spend time with other people who enjoy video games, and it's just good community. The room can also be rented out for birthday parties and other events.

If you don't enjoy the cold, business-like mindset of video game retail stores nowadays, Classic Game Junkie is the place to go. The owners are good people who love games as much as the next person, and they'll chat up various things with you. It's a family-run business, but when you are there, you become party of their family as well. It's a great alternative to other stores as a hands-on, community-based gaming experience, and if you like video games, then this is one place you have to check out.

Friendly, fully stocked, and knowledgeable game junkie is worth the half hour ride from Broomall for classic games. A large selection of games and systems makes this store the ultimate collectors place, not to mention the little extra things that they have such as pins from games, and other misc items such as lego figures of characters from old games (Final Fantasy, Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, ect.). The owners are really cool people and if they have the moment they'll talk about what ever really ended up discussing hockey for a bit one day. Always a good time at the store when my friends and I stop in great store go there to find most anything.

exceptional selection, incredible service!

I live in Cheltenham and was looking for a vintage game store to find a couple games of games.through my numerous attempts at other stores I couldn't find the games I was looking for and when I did find them they were very over priced. Then my friend showed me this store and I was taken by surprise. Very fair pricing with incredible selections of vintage and new games left me breathless. They seriously do it all there including my old nes so I didn't have to blow in my games anymore. I have completely stopped shopping everywhere else and fully support this store as they always give me service with a smile. I completely suggest this place

a gaming store like none other

Upon walking into the store it immediately differentiates itself from the normal game store by welcoming you with a medley hailing from the NES era of games. The store is incredibly well stocked with games and systems spanning since the industries inception. They even sport a decent handful of imported titles, and are willing to take anything game related for a fair and honest price. The staff is quite friendly and knowledgeable about games and electronics. If you're having a problem with your console this is the place to go to! If you're a game enthusiast you'd be missing out to not pay classic game junkies a visit!
