Alliant Techsystems, also known as ATK, is a supplier of solid rocket motors and one of the largest manufacturers of ammunitions in the United States. The company offers a variety of ammunition, launch and mission systems. It provides a range of products that includes antitank systems, electronic countermeasures, fuzes, gun systems, illumination devices and military ammunition. In addition, the company provides precision weapon systems, propellants, composites, and commercial accessories and ammunition. It employs approximately 16,500 personnel. The company serves the U.S. Army, U.S. Air force, Navy and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It also provides services to other government agencies and commercial corporations. The company operates more than 50 facilities in over 20 states throughout the United States. Established in 1990, ATK is headquartered in Edina, Minn.
