We camped here a few times this spring 2011 and enjoyed it. They do have some serious issues at the entrance gate. We have waited in line for up to 1 hour just to get the the booth to pay. Then if you leave for any reason while people are still coming in to pay you have to wait yet again in the same line just to get back in the park. Secondly, I have I have called ahead each time we have camped reccently to see if a burn ban was in place and was told no. When we got there it just so happens that both time the burn ban was reinstated. Even after the several rains we have had in early October. We are highly disappointed and are thinking at this point they are telling people when you call in that the burn ban has been lifted just to get you out there. I am sure it has been a slow time and they need the business. Camping is just not the same without a camp fire and a charcoal grilled steak. We will try a different lake next time.

My stay was from the end of September 2011 through the beginning of October 2011. I stayed for the weekend in a cabin at Loyd Park and it was very peaceful. The cabins were quiet, roomy, clean, well lit and had plenty of amenities. The park itself has beautifully kept grounds with excellent lake access. The only thing I did not like was the fact that the canoe and kayak rentals were closed down due to low water. The front gate people wouldn't recommend any other place in the surrounding areas that have kayak rentals.

I stayed here back in march and really enjoyed this campground, beautifully kept grounds with lots of amenities and awesome lake access. i also appreciated that they let me bring my dog and as long as you follow the rules, you have no problems. several places told me i couldn't have my Great Dane there at all. I will stay here over and over again and thanks to the helpful staff as well.
