The Salvation Army provides programs and services for the physical, emotional and spiritual development of people of all ages. Operational since 1891, it is a part of the universal Christian Church. The organization provides a range of emergency assistance and support services. The Salvation Army s emergency services include assistance with food, shelter, clothing and other household necessities. It has a volunteer disaster team that provides food and water at the scenes of disasters, such as fires, tornados and floods. The organization s seniors program includes a variety of activities, such as bingo and card games, arts and crafts, exercises in the gymnasium and field trips with seniors and mixed age groups. In addition, The Salvation Army operates a community center that offers various sports and recreation activities, including volleyball and basketball. It maintains a location in Green Bay, Wis.
