Dr. Sarah Mildred Gamble obtained her Medical Degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2004. She completed her internship & residency in Internal Medicine through New York Medical College at the Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Gamble’s extensive training at this academic hospital prepared her for diagnosing & managing most any patient who walks through our doors. She obtained her board certification in Internal Medicine in 2009 & recertified as a diplomat in 2019. From 2007-2010, Dr. Gamble specialized in the serious & urgent medical care of hospitalized patients at Stamford Hospital, Stamford, CT. She served as Assistant Program Director for In-Patient Teaching in the Dept of Medicine through Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Realizing that neither medical school nor traditional medical training taught her about the role of nutrition in the prevention & progression of disease, she obtained her advanced certification in plant-based nutrition through the T. Colin Campbell Foundation at Cornell University. She has been integrating the basic tenants of health through nutrition since then. She serves as Medical Director for Heartbeat International Ministries, a registered 501c3 organization founded and run by her family that coordinates relief and charitable efforts to feed, clothe & provide medical treatment to the poor & hungry around the world. Dr. Gamble joined the Board of Health in the Town of Greenwich serving from 2020-24. Her position provides oversight & guidance by helping identify public health priorities & policies that will enable the Dept of Health to protect both residents & the environment. She is currently finishing her post graduate fellowship in Functional Medicine with the Institute for Functional Medicine in Washington. Functional Medicine is an individualized, patient-centered, science based approach towards determining how & why illness occurs.
