Merrimack Elementary School, a balanced calendar Title I school, is located in Hampton, Va. It offers education to students in kindergarten through grade five. The school s academic curriculum includes mathematics, music, reading, arts and physical education. It also provides education to students with learning disabilities. The school has an enrollment of more than 400 students and a staff of over 70 members. It is a part of Hampton City Schools, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools. The district is accredited by the Virginia State Department of Education. Additionally, the district offers alternative education programs for children with various issues, such as academic skill deficits, poor attendance and behavioral problems.
