Contemporary Acupuncture

General Info
Acupuncture is one of the most widely recognized and successful methods of alternative treatment in the world. It is effective for sports injuries, many types of chronic pain, arthritis, headaches, fertility issues, neuropathic pain and nerve and muscle dysfunction. Sterile, single use, hair thin needles are carefully inserted into neuro-anatomically relevant locations. Most people find acupuncture sessions to be very relaxing. Dr. Hallinen has 13 years experience practicing and teaching Emergency Medicine with the University of Michigan and Hurley Medical Center in Flint. She has undergone extensive training in Contemporary Acupuncture. At your first appointment Dr. Hallinen will explore your health concerns and perform a detailed physical exam. You will then receive an acupuncture session. Dr. Hallinen's philosophy of care is to provide careful, compassionate cost effective care. Her goals include improving patients function and quality of life using Contemporary Acupuncture in a modern medical practice. Dr. Hallinen is especially interested in helping patients reduce dependence on opiates for chronic pain. You can use your Health Saving Account funds to pay for your acupuncture treatment. You will receive a coded receipt that can be submitted to some insurance plans for reimbursement. Please check your policy to determine if acupuncture is a covered benefit. Medicare and Medicaid do not cover acupuncture
