      A couple of weeks ago, the folks at Ferguson were well-informed and eager to help me when I called to get two valves for a new shower stall I am putting in. (I got the two shower handles-controllers-whatever trim but forgot about the valves that do the work behind the wall.) They knew what I needed and had it there, ready for me when I drove up in a semi-panic because my workers were sitting at my house, waiting for the rest of the stuff they needed to rough-in the shower plumbing. I was relieved and impressed with the service I got at Ferguson, although the price might be a little bit higher than I would have paid on-line. Well worth the cost, considering the anxiety reduction I experienced as I drove home with the valves!

      I guess it depends what you're looking for. We went hoping to buy a good-quality hand-held shower. We left with no hand-held shower and no useful information on what to buy or how to buy it--there were crystal chandeliers and gold-plated fixtures everywhere, but no price tags, and a long waiting list to talk with someone who, we suspect, wouldn't have wanted to help us. But if you want a crystal palace for a bathroom and have $100,000 to pay for it and endless hours to wait in line to talk to salespeople about it, this is the place for you.
