      Founded in 1931, the University Medical Center offers a range of inpatient and outpatient treatment services. It operates cancer, heart, trauma and transplant centers. The center administers various residency programs in internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, family practice, general surgery and pediatrics. The University Medical Center also maintains a birthing facility that specializes in high-risk obstetrics and bloodless caesarians. Its family resource center hosts a variety of classes, symposiums and workshops. The center conducts the examination of tissue and fluid samples. The University Medical Center s physicians additionally treat neurological, spine and pain problems. It is affiliated with the University of Nevada School of Medicine.
