We heard great things about Dr. Lawrence, so we decided to try her after my wife's last rheumatologist didn't work out. At her initial appointment with Dr. Lawrence, the doctor was kind, caring, and reassuring. She explained the treatment process that we'd be taking. My wife and I were incredibly optimistic about Dr. Lawrence.



Then came the nightmare. Reaching the office became impossible. We would call multiple times at different points throughout the day, and the line was always busy or the voice mailbox full, keeping us from leaving a message. On the rare occasion that the doctor told my wife not to schedule her next appointment before leaving her current one, she couldn't get in to see the doctor again because she couldn't reach anyone to schedule an appointment. Finally we literally had to just show up at the office and wait for three hours until they could find time to fit us in.



It has now been almost a year since my wife's last appointment. The doctor told her not the schedule an appointment at her last one because we were waiting on insurance information to clear. We received several calls from insurance and a pharmacy looking for information from Dr. Lawrence because they couldn't reach anyone at the office. We have called at least once a week since her last appointment and have been unable to reach anyone.



Last week they stopped sending in new prescriptions for my wife's medication and wouldn't respond to the pharmacy's faxed refill requests. Only after calling and speaking with their after-hours answering service for several days in a row did we receive a call from a rude woman who said she'd put the prescriptions through. She only put half of them through, so now we have to go through the whole process again.



Now, almost 2.5 years after first seeing Dr. Lawrence, my wife is on the exact same medications that she was on when she first visited, and she has not received any new treatment whatsoever. We'll be looking for a new rheumatologist. A kind and caring doctor doesn't matter if they're completely unreachable.
