General Info
Lithonia Animal Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital which also provides equine medical and surgical services. Lithonia Animal Hosital is located in Lithonia, GA ( DeKalb County ). The hospital was established by Dr. Edward Ray Wright in 1972. Our mission is to provide high quality veterinary medical and surgical services through a responsive, professional staff. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership to all types of pets including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, mice, sugar gliders, rats, and other various rodents. Our hospital team strives to give you and your pet the best care possible. Our doctors are continually learning about the most current technology and techniques to better treat your pet. We are proud to be among the first veterinary hospitals that offer CO2 laser surgery as an exciting new option for your pet. This technology means less swelling and pain, and a quicker recovery time for your pet's surgery. In addition, ultrasound diagnostics are available.

Provided by YP.comMy American Bulldog, Belle, was diagnosed with hip dysplasia by a different vet. That vet told me Belle need surgery to correct her problem. I decided to get a second opinion before I put Belle through any surgical procedure. I'm so glad I did, I took her to Lithonia Animal Hospital to see Dr. Wright. After viewing Belle's x-rays Dr. Wright told me Belle did not have hip dysplasia and did not need surgery. Dr. Wright diagnosed Belle with degenerative joint disease that was in her hip, knee and back. The other vet did not even mention her knee or her back. The surgery the other vet recommended would not have corrected the problem or relieved Belle's pain. Dr. Wrights suggestion to help Belle was medication and joint supplements. If not for Dr. Wright, Belle would have gone through unnecessary surgery that would not have helped alleviate her pain or correct her problem.A year later, Belle is doing great. She takes her medication every other day and her joint supplement every day. She occasionally has some pain but, it is infrequent and can be treated with medication, not surgery. Dr. Wright will take the time and the effort that is needed to correctly diagnose your dog's problem. His vast experience and knowledge did for Belle what another vet could not do. So my thanks go out to Dr. Wright for helping my Belle live a pretty much pain free, happy life.

Provided by YP.comWhy do you think a vets office would require you to divulge your social security number before treating your pet? What the ....?

Provided by YP.comDr. Ray Wright is a very patient and kind doctor. You can tell he has a real passion for what he does. He cares for my dogs as if they were his own. He is not the least expensive in town, but I think you definitely get what you pay for at Lithonia Animal Hospital. The staff is always very helpful and caring as well. I like to think my dogs enjoy going there as much as I do, but I can certainly tell they don't mind and are not afraid which speaks volumes in my book.
Thank you Dr. Wright and staff!
