Author of the book, Adult Children of Alcoholics, much of my work focuses on helping individuals to recover from depression, anxiety, early childhood trauma, & addictions. Through insight, compassion, & humor, clients will receive the encouragement & support they will need to break old patterns & to make positive & healthy changes in their lives. When individuals grow up in dysfunctional families where their emotional needs go unmet, what can gradually develop within them is an emotional void & a sense of emptiness. Later in life, these same individuals may try to fill this void or to anesthetize their pain with addictions such as alcoholism, substance abuse, workaholism, compulsive overeating or relationship addiction. In helping my clients to understand the connection between their past & their present, I help them to break old patterns, allowing them to move forward in their lives. When freed from the destructive aspects of their pasts, they can make healthy life choices in the present
