In 2003, Hooker diversified into leather, upholstered and reclining furniture by acquiring Cherryville, N.C.-based seating specialist Bradington-Young. The acquisition created a company offering case goods, occasional and upholstered furniture for the home, including the bedroom, dining room, family room, home office and home theater. The company operates multiple manufacturing plants and has approximately 2,000 employees and annual sales of more than $345 million. In business for more than 80 years, Hooker Furniture is headquartered in Martinsville, Va.
