I called Cummings Home Improvements in March 2012 for an estimate to repair damage we had to two rooms in our home caused by an ice dam in Dec 2010. I had shopped around but I wasn't really happy with the estimates and I felt like I didn't have any options for the repair. When I called Ted he promptly came by and when he told me what he could do to repair the rooms it was exactly what I had in mind so I knew he was the guy to hire for the job. He was nice, professional and he gave me the best price. The work required coordinating the efforts of several workers including an electrician, plasterer, mold removal company, and foam insulator and he did it all promptly..amazing. From start to finish he did a great job. Some of the work entailed repairing a ceiling and wall downstairs, looks perfect. Replacing a ceiling and one wall which he matched perfectly to old paneling in my daughters room and rebuilding a closet that looks awesome I do recommend him for your repairs or renovation. TC

Our first home project with Ted Cummings goes back to 2004. We had in mind to add an entryway on the front side of the house. We called in five contractors, and Ted Cummings was among of them. We had been disappointed by the reluctance of four of the contractors to do this project due to the non-traditional way the house was built. Ted Cummings was the only contractor who loved the challenge of modifying the house structure in order to have a nice entryway built in. His design proved to be deeply thought and promising in creating the entryway as a natural extension of the living room. He is an honest professional. His work was of fine quality and reasonably priced. In the end, the entryway design provided us with extra space and a more beautiful look of the house, in general. We highly recommend Ted Cummings as a reliable home improvement company for any project. Ted Cummings is a rare contracted. He was professional, respectful, neat,and most of all honest while adhering to the contract. I hired Ted after seeing his truck parked at a job he was doing in Melrose. I called him to replace a sub floor in my finished basement and to prevent water from leaking into the entrance for the basement. I was very happy and satisfied with the entire process. Ted provide an estimate. He wrote up a very explicit contract, showed up on time and completed the work in the time written on the contract. He came up with a great idea to prevent the water from leaking into the basement. This was over five years ago and when my Dad was looking for a contractor to rebuild his front steps I had no hesitation to recommend Ted. after i discovered tiles falling off the bathroom tub area an inspection reveled not only tile problems but the wall structure was rotted had an estimate of 8 thousand dollars to repair the walls and to replace all the tiles. ted suggested that instead of replacing individual tiles we use sheets of this material ,he knew of, that looked like granite and was suitable for the bath room. it saved me 4 thousand dollars in labor cost and looks terrific.

We've used Cummings Home Improvements on several home projects, large and small, over the past several years. Ted has done amazing work refinishing our full basement (from scratch), installing a new front step, refinishing our upstairs bedroom, replacing our indoor stairway and railing....
