My 6 year old son and I joined together in May of 2009. We are now preparing to test for our 2nd degree black belts in April. It's been life changing for us. Master Dickens (and all of the other instructors) at the Harbour Pointe branch are fantastic. I have watched my child for the last three years improve in her focus and concentration so much that I enrolled my older daughter. Tae kwon do has taught my daughters skills that will last a lifetime.

Our daughter has been attending Dong's karate at Harbour Pointe for the past few years. Its something she really took to - in large part due to the supportive and encouraging community of instructors and peers surrounding her - its a great group there and they work well together. Her self confidence has grown, she likes the physical nature of the art in a safe environment and the classes are flexible and frequent enough she can work on her forms and skill while still participating in other activities such as violin and art classes. As a parent, I like the respect and discipline Tae Kwon Do requires in its students and its a positive reinforcement to what we teach at home. I'm very pleased with Dong's Karate.

Dongs Karate is outstanding, you get two beginner classes for twenty dollars, that's how I got started at the school and ever since I started out as a beginner, I have loved it. Now that i am a Bo-Dan belt, I will be testing for my black belt soon and I will be able to younger belts what I have learned through the years of being a color belt. It is a very good school, and for all the years I have been there, safety is their number one priority!

My name is Ty Stromberg and I have gone to Dong's for eight years. It is the best Tae Kwon Do place in Virginia that I have tried. I first went to a place that is now out of business called Scotty Z's. I love Dong's a lot because the instruction is great as well as the teachers and cirriculum. It teaches you self-defense as well as lots of good qualities a person should have. It helps you have humility because you may go in thinking you're going to be the best... and you're not. It also even helps you with hard-working-ness. Physically, it challenges you, and mentally, you have to work to do the the papewrwork.

I love this school! Excellent instructor, flexible times, very professional atmosphere! The cost is competitive with others and well worth the instruction. I have been a student of Dong's for five years and have found it to be the best experience of my life. The program is directed and pushes me. There is a great opportunity to grow in so many areas. I checked out several martial arts schools before enrolling in Dongs and found that the program offered here surpasses those offered at other schools. My son has been enrolled in this school for 3 years. Not only has his self confidence increased, he is more respectful and disciplined which is evident in his school grades improving and general behavior at school and home. The Master instructor in this school has been a superior role model not only with his martial arts skills but with his character too which he demands of all his students as well. There is a family atmosphere in this school where all students help and support each other. The instructors are top notch-very personable, demanding, and strict. The martial arts curriculum taught is very structured, easy to grasp in the beginning but much more challenging as you move through the belts. My son is now a first degree black belt and his skills are constantly being challenged by the Master instructor who teaches the classes and insists on excellence from all his students. I highly recommend Dong's Karate to anyone looking for a top notch school with superior TKD instruction!!
