Ring Mountain Day School is a learning center that offers a variety of educational courses for students in kindergarten through grade eight. The school has a library media canter that maintains a collection of fiction and nonfiction books and novels on various topics to support the curriculum. It conducts academic classes in reading, writing, math, science, Spanish, art, music, history, science, technology studies, performing and visual arts, and health and physical education. Ring Mountain Day School offers a variety of athletic activities, such as basketball and cross-country. In addition, the school organizes several field trips and outdoor activities. Ring Mountain Day School is located in Mill Valley, Calif.

    Ring Mountain Day School is an independent, coeducational elementary/middle school for students three years through eighth grade. Ring Mountain Day School was founded as Children's Circle Center by Gudrun Hoy, M.A. in 1976. Gudron Hoy is a leading educator who developed and implemented a progressive curriculum for early childhood and elementary education. Her educational philosophy emphasized self esteem, creativity, global awareness and conflict resolution. Her vision was to educate the whole child by using high standards and stimulating each child to reach his or her fullest potential. Today, Ring Mountain Day School s curriculum is based on the progressive philosophy of John Dewey, a program that educates children by creating a safe learning community where students can take risks and be challenged according to their readiness and ability. This child centered approach not only nurtures a deep sense of self worth and creativity, but also fosters a passion for learning that w ill last a lifetime.
