Cakebread Cellars is a winery in Rutherford, Calif., that offers an array of wines, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Chardonnay Reserves, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Benchland Select. Jake Cakebread, who was working as a photographer acquired the property when a friend offered to sell him his vineyard in 1973.

Cakebread is one of my absolute favorite wines. I personally gravitate toward reds, but the Cakebreak Chardonnay is one of the best wines out there. Well worth your time - if you can't visit the vineyard, at least check them out next time you're in the store or at a restaurant - you will NOT be disappointed. (You will have a wee bit of sticker shock, though...)
