I was considering going into a Home. My niece gave my information to A Place For Mom thinking they would assist me as my niece lives in another place 1000 miles away from me and I have no other family. What a nightmare. Fast talking hard sell salesmen phoned me day and night trying to get me to take tours of places I had already seen and did not like it could not afford. They wouldn't listen to me at all, just kept up their patter, ignored everything I said, wouldn't leave me alone and called back immediately if I hung up on them. Finally, I had to threaten legal action to get them to drop me from their list. It was so upsetting that I burst into tears every time the phone rang. Now I'm afraid to sign up anywhere or even give out my email address to any group purporting to "help" me find a care home.

A place for Mom is not a placement service. They take your information and shoot it to every facility within a 10 mile radius of where you indicate you might want to live. Then every marketing person from every community will start blowing up your phone and most of the communities they send your number to, are no where near your budget. They act as though they know every community intimately, this is hogwash, they have not set foot in a majority of their communities. They just shotgun your number, then start following up with questions to see if you moved in anywhere so they can Invoice their referral fee. This place is a PURE SCAM !
