A friend of mines little girl was babysitting and had a medical emergency and had to cut the night short, again no fault of her own. The next day, the girl was terminated from care.com without any explanation. She was never given a Chance to explain her side of what happened. My friends daughter is distraught over this as this was her first job. They had no interest

A huge problem with Care.com is that it is wholly set up to favor clients and not sitters because the software only allows clients to initiate reviews and not sitters. Sitters can only respond to client reviews which is basically useless - it only attracts more attention to the bad review. This one way review option only leaves sitters with no recourse for bad clients including ones who don't pay them fully or much less than the agreed price. The client knows there is no recourse for the sitter so it is an incentive for them to cheat the sitter as they choose. I have already contacted the site about this but have received no response. Maybe they will respond to this review. I will be checking.

I love this site. I am a provider and have been on this site around 5 years. The families seem very happy with all the many qualified responses they receive. I have been pleased with the families that have called me. This site is very user friendly, with lots of great options for days, nights, part time or full time services. So glad to be working with this company and the wonderful families.

I had a similar experience like the first poster so I'm finding all the positive posts are probably just coming from the company trying to better their reviews - the lady we almost hired for cleaning oru home had a clean background check with Care.com but when my husband paid to get one through another company - her license was suspended, two of her referrals where kind of shady sounding and she had one domestic abuse on her file - when i confronted care.com, i got a lot of double talk but nothing that answered any of our questions, so we had them close our account...we never used any of their other services - but after this, I wouldn't hire anyone from their site to watch my dog...

Run from this company. I signed up in order to find child care - everything was going well until I received an email letting me know my account was closed and money being refunded due to a questionable report they received on me when they did a background check on me - I was sent a copy of the report. The person on the report had felonies coming out of her wazoo - I have never been in trouble with the law, not even as a youngster - The only thing the person on the report and I shared were similar first and last names...that's it...everything else was terribly way off. I did however receive an email letting me know that as soon as the information is corrected, i can once again resume my account with them - they are out of their minds, as soon as this nightmare is over they can keep my account closed as I want nothing to do with them.



Now it's a fight to get this corrected. Don't give any of your information to Care.com - and don't trust them to find someone to care for your children or your home - I wonder how many people with questionable backgrounds have been put through and approved as clean.

I am beyond satisfied with the service I found on Care.com. Not only did I find a great sitter, but having that "care on call" option to get a sitter last minute--it is such a BIG help! My husband had a last minute dinner with a client and we were able to find a sitter that night! Such a relief for me, but also for him. I can honestly say that I am happy to have found this treasure on the web. From day one, my husband I and no longer had to worry about where to turn for childcare. I highly recommend it to anyone! It's a mother's best friend that should be shared with all your friends!

Care.com helped my family out so much! Having to juggle 3 kids with three different activities is never easy, but Care.com was able to match my family's needs with a great babysitter. I cannot thank them enough for helping us find such a reliable and caring person that I can trust to watch my children. Care.com is easy to use--I highly recommend it!

I have to disagree with some of the postings on here. I am an advertised provider doing care for 18 years and also have posted as a parent needing occasional care! I've met great providers and have provided care to some great families through care.com. One thing I would suggest is that if your no longer needed care please take your posting down or at least respond with a polite "no thank you" its just like any other job where a care provider is waiting for a response to get hired and it's just plain rude not to give feedback. It's difficult if you have responded to an ad and no one has responded back to you. What's the deal with people saying they are interested confirm the date and time even on the day of the scheduled interview then don't show. I am beginning to think they pay people to put their profile online and never intend to care for your child. We wasted 2 months and $60 for nothing. The one interview that showed up claimed she found another job the next day then was active on the website again?? Hmmm... The company claims they take listings off that have not been active for 2 months, but 5 on one page were not active for 2 months or more. Take my advise and search elsewhere.
