Northern Hospital of Surry County is one of the leading providers of medical services in the United States. Northern Hospital is approved by the Joint Commission of the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, American Hospital Association, North Carolina Healthcare Association, and North Carolina Health Care Facility Association. Located in Mount Airy, N.C., the hospital has been operational for more than 40 years. It offers a wide variety of services, such as behavioral health, psychiatric care, critical and cardiac care, oncology, chemotherapy, cardiac catheterization and angioplasty, balloon angioplasty, intensity modulated radiation therapy, and same-day surgery center. Northern Hospital s women health services includes family planning, prepregnancy counseling, free pregnancy testing, prenatal orientation and classes, delivery and postpartum education, breast and cervical cancer screening, mammography, pap smears, case management, and immunizations.

Just spent the last few hours in the emergency room for my son's asthma attack! All for nurses and the doctor taking care of him were the greatest. They were fast, personable and caring. Nice bunch of people.
I had a wonderful experience at Northern Hospital when I had my son. Not only did I get excellent care when I was having him, the two times I went for false alarms were also excellent. I will be going back for any other reasons I need a hospital.
Northern hospital of Surry does not care for the patients properly. They have more nurses on the floor than aids. When you push the button to get help it takes them 2 hours to get someone to your room to help. I personally experienced this.
I complained to the complaint line 1-888-665-5897, and the next day instead of my mother getting surgery on her hip she was being discharged to an outside rehab care facility. Northern has a 3rd floor rehab, where she could have been put.
I feel that it was because I complained that they discharged her instead of giving her surgery.
