Wasn't our cup of tea. It seems that the director is good at polarizing and isn't able to see how this is damaging to students. Studio managed by instilling fear in students and parents. Controlling director. Just not a healthy culture. There are better options in Wichitia.

Speaking as a former student that has gone on to dance professionally, Sharon Rogers is one of the finest ballet teachers around. For proof, simply look at the success of her students and the loyalty, love and respect that her longtime students have for her.

Rogers Ballet is a quality place to study the art form of dance. She teaches not only ballet, but life skills also-- like self-discipline and responsibility. Students, like myself, who have chosen to pursue professional careers in the dance world credit her with the basis to do so (both with a technical ballet base and a personal sense of discipline the art requires). It is a strong place to learn and develop.

The Director is an excellent business woman and dance instructor who not only manages her business but teaches all the classes, from pre-ballet to advanced pointe as well as tap and jazz. Many of her students have gone on to dance for professional ballet and tap companies. Her philosophy is one that strives to help each and every student become the best that he or she can be, not only as a dancer but as a person. The Director is an artist and teaches ballet as an art, not a recreational sport. Her students do not attend competitions, which are mainly about ego. If you want your child to learn discipline, self-control, concentration, perseverance, coordination and balance, patience, attention to detail, musicality, as well as a tremendous work ethic, and be taught by the best, then this is the place for you. As a parent, you need to be willing and able to work with other parents. Her door is always open, but you must take the initiative. Her Spring Performances are absolutely amazing. Even the youngest students learn to dance in perfect unison, never watching someone on the side of the stage or even each other. Which teacher would you remember 20 years from now as having the greatest impact on your life for the positive? The one that let you play around and have fun or the one that expected something from you and helped you live up to your potential?

I do not know of the circumstances surrounding these disgruntled parents' comments; I can only speak to the positive experiences my daughter and I had during her years at Rogers Ballet. She was never going to have a career as a dancer but the life lessons she learned at Rogers Ballet have carried her through to adulthood. She not only learned the joy of expressing herself through dance, but self-discipline, taking responsibility for her own actions, a strong work ethic, etc. I watched her self-confidence bloom. I have always credited the owner/director with helping an awkward little girl turn into a bright, responsible young woman. As the parent, I learned a few lessons myself. There were expectations of all of us; I know I fell short sometimes but Rogers Ballet never let me or my child down. Rogers Ballet offers an invaluable education through the dance experience. I highly recommend this program!

Perhaps attending Student Concerts and exploring the beautiful and well-rounded dancers both physically and mentally would prove the quality of this studio. Excellent.

I am writing in response to the reviews posted for Rogers Ballet Inc.These reviews are slanderous and lies by two disgruntled families who knowing the philosophy, goals and policies of Rogers Ballet who rather than solving problems directly with the Director decided to undermine, aggravate and destroy the studio. As a parent part of Rogers Ballet at that time, I observed this unfortunate situation which was resolved three years ago when these students left the studio. Immediately and today as well, the studio returned to being a healthy, happy and positive environment where all students, children through adults learn, grown and enjoy the art of dance, my child being one of them.I highly recommend this studio and suggest that you call and make an appointment with the Owner/Director if you have any questions and concerns.5 stars.
